If you are from an organization within the San Diego or Imperial Counties and wish to register a potential Eagle Scout Service Project for consideration by an Eagle Scout candidate, you an do so here.
This page lists potential Eagle Scout Service Projects, submitted by local organizations. You should reach out to the listed contact person to make sure that you understand what the benefactor is expecting for the end result, and whether the project is one that you believe that you can complete before any indicated deadline. Before embarking on any of the listed projects, you should consult with your Eagle Project Counselor for appropriateness of the project. Every attempt is made to list only projects that are appropriate as Eagle Scout Service Projects, but just because a potential project is listed here should not be construed as the project being appropriate.
The projects are listed by ascending order of ZIP Code.

Rain and Sun shelter canopy
Tube frame structure, covered with canvas tarp 10' by 10' or 10' by 20' adjacent to handicapped parking to shelter disables patients awaiting transportation in the sun or in the rain. Posts will need to be very securely anchored to the pavement and as yet unknown specifications may need to be met. They already have a larger, but similar structure in another location far from parking that meets the required specs, so I see no problem there. I am 75 years old and recently put one of these things up single handedly. crew with a bit of team-work can easily do a bang-up job of one. Suitable used frames are frequently available on craigslist.org and that is how I got mine and bolted it down to protect my tools long before finding this need for one. I can do the entire job myself, but want some scouts to get their feet wet, so to speak. (by the way, in the box below, "if" is misspelled as "it")

ADA complaint ramps
The Foundation for Senior Care provides many services to seniors and the disabled to help them live in their homes safely and to age in place with dignity . One of the requests we have is to build ramps so that a senior can get in and out safely from their home. We had a ministry of men who provided their time and expertise to building these ramps for our seniors, only charging for the cost of wood. If the senior did not have the income, which is usually about $350 - $450, for the ramp, the Foundation would try to obtain a benefactor. The builder who understands how to build the ramps to ADA code, is now a snow bird, but he would me more than happy to consult with anyone interested in building the ramps for our seniors.

Clay Elementary Mobile Garden
With all the new regulations going into kids and school, we are hoping to extend our small school garden with 3-4 garden boxes that are on casters (wheels). These garden boxes will provide the opportunity to move to different parts of the campus during lunch time or outdoor events, can be reserved by different grade levels to use during science or special classroom activities, and can allow us to extend our garden space (which is very small and tucked in the back corner of our campus) to keep students at a safe distance apart while still being able to work outdoors in nature. Being a title 1 school, most of our students live in apartments and school is the only opportunity they have to grow their own food. We do not have funding for this project, but want it to happen so badly that we could try and help fund the project.

Preschool sensory garden
La Petite Ecole is a 501(c)3 nonprofit school serving over 200 students in Serra Mesa. Our preschool is interested in starting a sensory garden for the children ages 2-4 years old to plant flowers, herbs, and vegetables in. Our goal is to provide a space to explore the various senses through the natural world. We are open to different design ideas of incorporating a small bench or different textures such as rocks. We hope to hear your creative ideas and we are happy to provide examples! Our school is lacking in green space so this addition would be a wonderful improvement to our space!

Garden Project
We'd love help with our school's garden - it needs a little TLC. Create a walking path and an enclosed raised bed garden area. Current garden was created with a grant 7 years ago and is showing signs of wear. We visited Turtleback Elementary school, where they have had multi-year Eagle Scout projects that have created a beautiful garden space. Very proud of those Eagle Scouts and would love to have a little pride in our garden!
